We hope to "SailFast"!

The Chicago to Mackinac Race has over 400 boats planned to start the event's 100th running. The divisions range from cruising classics, Grand Prix One Design, multi-hauls and maxi mono-hauls that call the Great Lakes home. The event organizers have been timely with updates and news. The boats will have transponders for easy tracking with the event organizers strongly encouraging all those who are able to submit pictures and tales from the course, to do so with fun contest for us to participate in.
We will be reporting as live as possible from the S&S 50 "Challenge", owned by Ray Teborek, a Chicago native and home port of Belmont Marina. She a classic beauty, very comfy, may not be the first to finish...and may not sail as fast as the other 50 footers but we have excellent crew, great bunks, two full working heads and excellent food (and plenty of it) with many an old hat from Chicago-Mac's of years gone by.

With the weather predictions changing with the hour...local knowledge and experience on a steady stead...will have to follow us on the tracker and see how we fair against the more speedy boats!

Kevin Teborek (Ray's son) making sure our sandwich meat
is ready to go!

We have "real breakfast" every morning with this program!
I personally picked out the fresh blue berries for blueberry pancakes...

Ray and Kevin...the food program on this boat is taken very seriously
and with the prospect of light breeze...eating will not be a "Challenge".

Please check back often as we hope to do our best in sharing our tales of trying to "SailFast" over the next few days, though for sure bookmark the boat tracker and Team Challenge!

Cheers!
