The breeze filled in nicely! It was a lovely, even more lovely day than yesterday...though the weather has hinted to a change.
We headed straight to the circle with J/80s, Shields and J/24s:
There was plenty of pretty pictures to be had on that circle! However, the circle which called to me was the PHRF group the Expressly For Fun sailors were hanging out at. When you are learning to race on a Morris 36, one has to be having a good time!
I truly enjoying Ken's coaching of the EFF sailors, awesome! We had him on the press boat's radio and listening as he coached/mentored each in their decision making from start to finish. If every regatta had the means to have such a division, a positive voice to guide them and help them build confidence in their boat handling and tactical abilities. Would like to believe those same sailors would gradually move to the more intermediate classes and racing circles with continued positive experience.
Ken has nothing but reassuring and positive feedback and mindful suggestions, we've been listening in to everything even after we left to scope out another circle. He even let them know he enjoyed watching them sail! Who says sailing isn't fun to watch!!
We swung thru the 420s before heading in, the weather has turned to various shades of gray with the look and feel of rain. Now, if it cools things off, this could be a good thing!
Thank you for reading...added another 618 photos to the 500+ from yesterday...how the heck do the pros manage this?!?! Check back later this evening!
Cheers!
