The grand finale of Nantucket Race Week, the Opera House Cup, was the first all-wooden regatta for single-hulled classic boats. This event attracts some of the coolest boats in the country and is a ton of fun. The Rainbow Parade - featuring Nantucket's Rainbow fleet sailing from Nantucket Harbor around Brant Point - is a great tradition and the party at regatta's end isn't too bad either.
What could be better than watching a fleet of wooden classics in Nantucket Harbor in August?!
Emily Ferguson took some great photos of the event. You can see them at http://landsedgephoto.com/ohc09/.
Also more info on this year's event can be found at http://www.operahousecup.org/page/ohc.
