Sailability Program Helps Wounded Vet

2011 Scripps Media Photo

We saw this story on ABC NEWS.com and wanted to share. The Clearwater Sailing Center is doing a great job with a program called Sailability. In this story, they focus on a newcomer to the sport  - Lance Cpl. Roger Thomas of the United States Marine Corps.

Thomas suffered an accident that caused him to lose his right hand. Through CSC, he started sailing on a specially rigged Access Dinghy and now, a year later, he's sailing an Ensign. It's a great story about a community of people who all embody the SailFast lifestyle. Good stuff. Enjoy!
